Filmpool - Basic Filmmaking Workshop
An Intro To Digital Filmmaking
The Filmpool is pleased to announce a new version of the Basic Filmmaking workshop happening on September 25 and 26th.
If you are interested in learning the basics of digital filmmaking as well as put to practice what you learned the Filmpool is offering a weekend workshop with berny hi and Yvonne Abusow. The workshop will introduce equipment, lighting, editing, and will end with participants teaming up to shoot a short video.
The workshop is $80 for members and $100 for non-members.

Grant Writing (Media Arts)

This is an ideal introduction for members applying for their first grant or a way for more experienced artists to get feedback on their applications. This workshop is good preparation for the October 1st Canada Council Grant to Film and Video Artists.

Sony Cameras I

Video Cameras for Beginners. We will focus on our Sony cameras and their menu systems. Exposure, Shutter Speed, Iris, White Balance, Zebra Stripes Explained. You must take this workshop if you want to take the EX-1 workshop.

EX-1 Camcorder Workshop

In depth practical instruction on the SONY PWM-EX1 High Definition camcorder. This camera uses the XDCAM HD format, records onto SxS memory cards (not tape) and is used in television production. This one of PAVED Arts highest quality camera and ideal for short films and documentary style digital films. You *MUST* take this workshop before you may rent this camera.

Dorkbot: Datamoshing

Come learn about new techniques in digital art at the latest *Dorkbot Saskatoon* meeting this September. Datamoshing is an experimental video technique that uses the intricacies of digital video encoding to create unique abstract imagery from ordinary video files. For this session of dorkbot, we'll get together, watch this tutorial video on the process and see if we can experiment with the datamoshing concept. If you have a
mac laptop, bring it along!
Final Cut Pro I

An introduction to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. Basic editing functions: marking, editing, and trimming clips in the timeline, as well as applied editing will be discussed in this workshop. Basic text generators range checking and motion properties will be introduced.

Drawdio Kit Building

Also, The Sask Voicers Society is a group of voicers who have groups in Regina and Saskatoon. We have voice projects that are for group members all year long. SIAST - Film, Video & New Media Applied Certificate
If you want to work on a film set...
Set Protocol/Set Safety (FILM 164)
Your studies will focus on the film and video set. You will learn about the scope of practice for each occupation within film, video and new media, reporting structures and union regulations. You will also study health and safety as it relates to a production set. Manual provided at class.
